We are pleased to highlight Michelle of Surrounding Memories, Carleton Place, Ontario, for her many amazing contributions to both the community and local artisans over many years.

This year, as our community was hit with COVID-19. Michelle was quick in becoming involved with some wonderful people. She gave us this quote to share:

Michelle Bedel and Serena McIntyre along with Amanda Plunkett at Surrounding Memories and Designsbtw created the group Sewing for Lanark. These ladies and many local volunteers were donating fabric, cutting, sewing, and delivering the completed masks to care facilities in the Lanark area. After the need changed for the care facilities they started sewing and selling the masks at Surrounding Memories

Michelle is a small business owner, who has been impacted by the shut down. She was one of the first to adjust her business to offer curb side pick up and adjust her store accordingly to keep everyone safe. Installing a glass shield, limiting customers in her small space, and always has worn a mask.

Those who visit will find an amazing display of local artisan works, ours included, designer paints and other supplies. She took the time to put signs for everything to lessen the amount of touching.

We wanted to thank Michelle and the many who have been involved behind the scenes. We appreciate all your efforts!!
