Spooky season is finally here!
October is a time for many people to go out and celebrate Halloween. This year though, things will probably be different as we head into the second wave of COVID-19.
While we still try to figure out the new way of doing things, let us continue to keep up our precautions and try to ensure our healthcare system doesn’t get overwhelmed and people stay healthy.
It will be a different season for Halloween and Trick or Treating, but there are ways that we can celebrate it safely. Reach out to your local communities to see what you can do with your children or for children this season.
Other than that, stay safe, healthy, and keep on crafting!

We know that September 30th was the day to commemorate the Residential
Schools of Canada and keep the fight for reconciliation alive.
Orange Shirt Day was brought forward to begin discussing the legacy left behind from Residential Schools in Canada and how the healing process is happening in society.
While this date was chosen because historically this was when Indigenous children were taken from their homes and forced into the schools, we want to recognize the work that the Orange Shirt Project do year around.
Reconciliation and healing won’t happen in one day so it is important to keep discussing the issues that residential school and racism that remain today.
Go to orangeshirtday.org to read more on their project and find out ways to support them or just learn more.
